Canadian General Electric played a very important role in the early years of nuclear power development in Canada, such as with the NPD and WR-1 reactors. CGE (now GE in Canada) continues to be an important part of the Canadian nuclear industry.
The Canadian Nuclear Society is very grateful to Mr. G. Cantello for his permission to publish his M.A. thesis, which describes an important chapter of Canada's nuclear history.
